A couple weeks ago my little brother that was serving his mission in Los Angeles finished his 2 years. My parents drove down from Utah to pick him up. Along the way they came by my place for a night and then the four of us made our way back to Utah.
There the entire Corey family was gathered together for the first time in quite a while and maybe for the last time for quite a while. We all spent a couple days together in Sandy during which my brother had his missionary home coming talk in church. We spent a lot of that time watching the Olympics including the night Phelps and team came back to win the Gold in their first relay. We all started yelling and cheering only to remember there was like 8 little kids asleep around the house and the last thing we wanted was to wake them all up...
Over the next couple days we all made our way up to my families cabin in Island Park near Yellowstone. That was a fun time as we took nieces and nephews for motorcycle and 4-wheeler rides and went to Yellowstone.
All in all it was a good trip and good to see the whole family again. We worked on getting my brother normalized after the mission, starting with taking him to see Iron Man 15 minutes after he was released. I was also able to squeeze in a couple visits to some of my friends out in Utah. It's good to be back in California, but I do miss those mountains in Utah...
